Dave Holt spent more than twenty-eight years in the energy supply and electricity delivery businesses at one of the largest electric utilities in New England. He has held executive management roles in engineering, transmission and distribution (T&D) operations, and information systems. He has directed a number of multi-million dollar, multi-year T&D, energy supply, and information systems projects to successful completion. These experiences have given Dave a broad and varied background in both the rapidly changing electricity and information technology fields. Dave spent the bulk of his career at the New England Electric System (NEES) Companies. During his executive years at NEES, he served as Vice President of Engineering, Executive Vice President for T&D Operations, and Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer. During his NEES career, he held executive responsibility for a number of large and complex projects such as New England Power's Generation Control Systems Upgrade Project, New England's HVDC Transmission Project - Phase I, REMVEC's Dispatch Center Upgrade Project and the NEES Companies' Year 2000 Project. Dave scoped, founded, and acted as the first President of the NEES Companies' unregulated telecommunications subsidiary - NEESCom, Inc. He has provided expert testimony on engineering, operations, and project topics to numerous federal, state, and local regulatory authorities. He has amassed experience working with various organized labor groups. He has participated, at an executive level, in two company mergers and a subsidiary divestiture. After leaving NEES, Dave has consulted on emerging business opportunities in the electric power and telecommunications fields. He has conducted strategy studies and evaluated business models on topics such as merchant transmission and on-site energy supply, and has performed due diligence reviews for entities involved in mergers and acquisitions in the deregulated energy marketplace. Dave holds a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master Of Science Degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering, both from Clarkson University. He holds a Master In Business Administration Degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and is a graduate of the Stanford University Senior Executive Program. He is a Registered Professional Engineer and a member of the Institute Of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). He served for four years on IBM's Utility CIO Board. He is author / co-author of several technical papers.
