Doug Czarnomski has more than 15 years of experience in the electric power industry working in several capacities - design development, engineering, commissioning, field work, project engineering and project management. Doug worked for ASCO Electrical Products, a subsidiary of Automatic Switch Company (which was absorbed by ASCO in 1990). While at ASCO, he was responsible for the design and production of various types of design-build electrical switchgear and controls. He was the principal engineer for a Gas Research Institute project to develop, apply, and commercialize a compact and robust package of switchgear and controls specifically tailored for cogeneration plants. During his final years at ASCO, in addition to his engineering duties, Doug was also responsible for all computer resources for the engineering department and for OEM applications. Doug then worked eight years for ABB Power Generation (now Alstom Power). As a development engineer he was responsible for creating the electrical specifications and basic design for several classes of turbine-based electrical plants, working extensively with the Kraftwerke research arm (KWR) of ABB. Doug was the key liaison between the global gas turbine design center and the US organization for all electrical issues and later joined the GT24 development team. While based in Switzerland, he finished courses for his MBA program at the City University of Zurich. After returning to the US, he took on the role of system project manager for five large engineer-procure-construct (EPC) power generation projects: Agawam , MA (250MW), Midlothian, TX (1500MW), Hays, TX (1000MW), Blackstone, MA (500MW) and Bellingham, MA (500MW), leading a multi-national team of engineers. During his 18 months at EIG, Doug has acted as Owner's Engineer for the electrical and I&C portions of the 850 MW High Desert Power Project in California. Doug holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Lafayette College and a Master of Business Administration Degree in International Business from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
