Dan Lorden lectures at University of Wisconsin HVDC Course in Las Vegas

Daniel J. Lorden, EIG Principal Consultant, lectured at this year’s University of Wisconsin-Madison HVDC Power Transmission Course in Las Vegas, NV on March 3-5, 2015.  Dan presented a summary of all North American HVDC projects in operation, construction, and development.  He also discussed the prime-movers driving HVDC project development and the role non-traditional utilities are playing.

Dan has accrued over 30 years of experience in the electricity industry performing senior-level project and corporate management functions related to high-voltage transmission planning; project development and execution; HVDC systems; CCGT power plant development;  FERC, ISO, NERC and associated Reliability Council process management; and energy asset acquisition. In addition, Dan served as co-author of the EPRI HVDC Handbook.
